Rhode Island FC Welcomes Matt DelGreco as Director of Sports Performance

Rhode Island FC announced that Matt DelGreco has joined the club as Director of Sports Performance. DelGreco will oversee the club’s sports performance programs to optimize player health, fitness, and performance.

“We are thrilled to welcome Matt to Rhode Island FC,” said Brett M. Johnson, Rhode Island FC Chairman. “His experience working with professional athletes and his passion for sports performance will be invaluable as we continue to build a world-class program to support our players.”

DelGreco joins Rhode Island FC from the New England Revolution, where he served as a Sports Performance Associate supporting the first team and academy. DelGreco is a certified strength and conditioning specialist with a master’s degree in Strength and Conditioning and a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. A native Rhode Islander, DelGreco grew up in North Kingstown and graduated from the University of Rhode Island.

“I’m excited to join Rhode Island FC and help the club achieve its goal of building a comprehensive sports performance program,” said DelGreco. “My role will be to optimize player availability and reduce injury risk through targeted strength and conditioning programs, nutrition guidance, and sports science initiatives. I look forward to collaborating with the technical staff to give our players the best opportunity to perform at their highest levels.”

DelGreco will work closely with team doctors and physical therapists from Ortho Rhode Island to integrate sports performance strategies across all areas of player wellness and ensure a collaborative approach to player care and injury prevention.
